Hi! I’m Elizabeth, but most people call me Lizzy.

After finishing my Doctorate in cello, I set out into the world expecting to apply for faculty jobs at different universities, eventually landing a tenure-track job. I soon realized that these dream tenure-track positions are few and far between and so I decided to work on making my own cello career.

I moved to Portland during the summer of 2021 with a part-time job and a small private studio in Eugene, but I quickly realized that I needed to change something if I really wanted to make strides in my career as a cellist. That was when I decided to leap and focus on performing as a wedding musician.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with amplified cello and playing with backing track (think Karaoke, but with cello instead of singing). While I still love playing acoustic cello, I am excited to explore this new path of cello playing. Yee-haw!
